Stephen Curry congratulated Howard star Kendall Jackson on his big achievement with a surprise gift

If you’re talking about finding small wins through others’ accomplishments, it is a fine day for Stephen Curry.

Howard University’s Kendall Jackson (junior) recently battled it out on the greens, at PGA Works Collegiate Championships.

Held at the TPC Sawgrass, she won the PWCC Individual title with 1-over par in the finals round at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Now, just hours into the massive accomplishments, Stephen Curry, who funds the University program, joins in the celebrating the 19-year-old.

Curry went to this Instagram and reposted the collaborative post between Jackson and Axcess Network that highlighted moments from her thrilling game.

“1,2,3,4,5… ..6 Count em up,” Curry wrote on his story while featuring the video.

Kendall is a Houston native, pursuing a sports management major and economics minor from the prestigious University. She is part of the first-ever women’s team at Howard, who joined the Uni in hopes of making history. With that, her recent feat acts as another feather in her cap. She aims to pursue golf professionally in the future, all while having a Plan B of working within the golfing world.

Currently, Kendall Jackson is ranked 544th in World Amateur Golf Rankings. She has a total of 3 wins and 11 top finishes. Moreover, she is also Howard University’s captain for the Women’s Golf Team, was the Women’s Golf MVP in 2021-2022, and Howard’s Women’s Golf Rookie of the Year in the same year.

August 2023 was a historical time for Howard University as their golf team made a television debut. They were part of the series ‘Why Not Us,’ made possible by none other than Stephen Curry. The ‘Howard Golf’ segment of the series followed coaches and student-athletes during their preparations, achievements, and setbacks as they aimed to bring more light on the awareness of golf.

It all happened when Stephen Curry, who himself is a passionate golfer, marked a generous donation to the HBCU culture, wanting them to reignite their golf program. He donated $6 million over 6 years to the university. As a result, after nearly 50 years of inactivity, a new life was instilled within the golfing realm for its students. Both men’s and women’s programs saw a resurrection in 2021. As for the players, they have been on a roll since then.

In just these young years, the university’s men’s team has a PGA Works Collegiate Championship (PWCC) in the bag alongside two de facto national titles.

Soon, Curry could probably put ahead endorsement deals for the student-athletes with his Curry Brand. It will not only add to his contributions to the sport of golf but also help him branch out his business world.
